Remove Sweat Stains from Clothing

Sweating causes two problems in clothing. The first is the yellow or brownish sweat stain especially visible on light colored clothing. The second is the build up from sweat and antiperspirant that stiffens the fabric in the armpit area.

To remove the yellow or brownish sweat stain from light clothing do the following:

Combine 1 part hydrogen peroxide, 1 part baking soda, 4 parts hot water. Soak the garment in this mixture for 4 hours, wash  normally.

NOTE: Test small area of colored fabrics for color fastness before soaking the entire garment.

To remove the stiff build up from antiperspirant and sweat do the following:

Soak the area in rubbing alcohol for 10 minutes. Rinse with boiling water. Repeat until build up is gone.
